The Importance of Being Earnest

I’ve been stuck getting through a few quite long and dense books recently; this was a welcome change. Wilde’s humor is unparalleled — some of the funnest moments in the play happen almost immediately into the book and they never stop. Much has been written about the significance of The Importance of Being Ernest that will far outrank my thoughts, but I think the book’s signaling on the basic human nature of exaggeration and the need to catch up to one’s stories was quite wise.
