An odd but very beautifully written short story about a man who’s wife transforms into a fox overnight. It reminded me quite a lot of Kafka’s metamorphosis and of course of David Garneet’s Lady into Fox, which it is apparently based upon. The character transformation of the husband, who is jolted from a complacent life, is where author Sarah Hall centers on. This was a great quick distraction to read as I have been sifting through some longer non-fiction works recently.
