Summary

The thrust of Webb’s point is a unique one; he seeks to dispel the common notion that one should overcome or throw aside fear, or that fear is itself an impediment or enemy to progress or production. Instead, the idea is that fear should be seen as a co-pilot that enhances one’s ability. Fear has its Darwinistic purpose — to properly warn you when you are in danger — and that should be respected in its appropriate way as data to act upon. But it shouldn’t fully overcome your decision making, and if you work at it, it can be employed as an accelerant.
