King of Capital: The Remarkable Rise, Fall, and Rise Again of Steve Schwarzman and Blackstone

A helpful history of Blackstone, which provides great background on the private equity ecosystem and industry as a whole through multiple eras and business cycles. I’m glad I read this after Barbarians at the Gate, as the KKR story was a great precursor to that of Blackstone.
